 A Brief History
The company was formed in December 2001 by Arthur Reader following a period of 6 months investigating the market for polypropylene in Building Services in the UK.
There had never been an Aquatherm UK representation before this time so it was very much back to basics to establish the market potential.
A lifetime contract was made with Aquatherm Gmbh, Attendorn, Germany to become one of the 75 Representations around the world.
For 6 years prior to the formation of the Company, Arthur worked with George Fischer UK as a Consultant to promote the application of Polybutylene in Building services. This was valuable experience as it established him as a” plastics expert” in installation of plastic building services which was still a relatively low profile market but always envisaged as the future for the industry subject to the correct material being available.
Having worked in the contracting industry for over 50 years at home and overseas his knowledge is extensive in all aspects of design and installation.
From a small start in a warehouse at Hand Cross in West Sussex the sales rapidly grew and only after one year a move to Bolney Grange Business Park West Sussex was made to a 250 sq metre warehouse.
With sales growing at 100% per annum it was not long before additional space was required and a further 250 Sq metre warehouse was added to the operation.
The space was eventually exhausted when the company commenced the Aspire Defence project along with many other major projects necessitating another move in March 2007 to Victoria Road Burgess Hill, giving over 1000 sq metres of warehouse and fabrication workshop area.
Having started as a one-man business in 2001 the company now has in excess of 25 personnel (plus installation sub-contractors)and growing.
Aquatherm is a world-leading environmental piping system and ever conscience of Global warning Aquatherm UK is continuing to establish and promote environmental principals to an industry that has been brought up on high energy-using metal systems. |
